What is WIFI@OU?
- WIFI@OU is the preferred WIFI network for members of the entire OU community.
- It will require you to log in with your OU username (OUNet or OUHSC username) and password.
- This network requires devices that support WPA2 Enterprise level encryption and 802.11g specification or newer (802.11a/g/n/ac).

How to connect to WIFI@OU from your computer
- “Forget” OUGuest. For instructions on forgetting a wireless network, refer to this article.
- From the desktop, select the WIFI icon. On the drop down menu, select WIFI@OU as the SSID.
- Enter your OU username and password.
- Select Continue when the Verify Certificate prompt appears (see below for further detail).
- Apple's macOS will require you to update the Certificate Trust Settings. Enter your computer’s username and password when prompted. NOTE: This is not your OU/HSC username and password, and requires you to have admin privileges on your computer.
- If you have changed your OU/HSC password recently and are now having difficulties logging in to WIFI@OU, one possible solution is to forget all OU WIFI networks, then set up the connection once again.
How to connect to WIFI@OU from your phone
- Go to Settings and then WIFI.
- Select WIFI@OU as the network.
- Enter your OU/HSC username and password.
- Choose Trust when prompted to verify the Certificate.
Verifying the new certificate
- After entering your OU/HSC username and password, you will be prompted to accept a new certificate.
- This is a normal part of the process to log in to WIFI@OU.
- Every device connected to WIFI@OU will receive a prompt to accept a new certificate once per year. This prompt is normal and connectivity will be restored once the certificate is accepted.

- Amazon Kindle Fire – NOTE: if Android OS has been installed on a Kindle Fire, then it can and should connect to WIFI@OU
- Video game consoles from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo
- Apple TV Generations 1-3
- Barnes & Noble Nook v1.5
- Roku HD/XD/XDS Streaming Player
- TiVo Wireless Network Adapter
- Chromecast
- Any WIFI Thermostat
- Google Home
- Amazon Echo
- All smart TVs
My device doesn’t support WPA2-Enterprise! Now what?

- If the device you wish to connect to a network does not support WIFI@OU, you will need to connect it to AccessOU.
- Please note: If you are trying to connect a smart device such as Google Home, it will need to connect to AccessOU, while your smart phone connects to WIFI@OU. The two devices should still be able to interact.
- For more information about AccessOU, including how to connect, see this article.
- Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo 3DS will not be able to connect to any wireless network at OU, including AccessOU.
- Apple TV Gen 4-5 will use WIFI@OU, but requires additional steps. Please see this article.

- If the device you wish to connect to a network does not support WIFI@OU, you will need to connect it to OUGUEST.
Trust Prompt for Access.ou.edu Certificate
Please note that Apple devices will need to click “Trust” on the access.ou.edu Certificate – similar to when the device was first connected to WIFI@OU.
Windows devices that are currently connected to WIFI@OU, or have been in the past, will receive a prompt asking if they would like to “Continue connecting?” – you will need to select “Connect”.
