How to Connect to GlobalProtect (VPN)

Prior to connecting to the GlobalProtect (VPN), ensure the following steps have been completed:

  • You have a device enrolled in PingID.
  • Global Protect is installed on your computer.
    • OU issued devices should already be installed with Global Protect. If you do not see it on your OU issued device, please submit a Device Support Request as it will need an administrator password to install.

Connecting to Global Protect

  1. Upon logging into the computer, on the bottom right corner of your screen, the Global Protect window should appear. If the window does not appear, press the globe from the following options. Windows task tray with GlobalProtect highlighted
  2. The following box should appear. Please use the following addresses for your campus location:
    • The portal address for the HSC VPN is: connect2.ouhsc.edu
    • The portal address for the Norman VPN is: ouvpn.ou.edu
    • The portal address for the Tulsa VPN for HSC account users is: vpn.tulsa.ou.edu
    • The portal address for the Tulsa VPN for Norman account users is: soonervpn.tulsa.ou.edu
  3. After entering the Portal Address, Click “Connect”. GlobalProtect with Portal field
  4. Another Box will populate requesting a Username and Password. Once you have entered your credentials, Click “Connect”. GlobalProtect with login field
  5. Once “Connect” is clicked, a PingID Push will be sent to your mobile device to verify your request. Open the notification on your phone and tap “Yes”. Once approved, PingID will show “Authenticated”.  PingID promptPingID prompt success

Unable to connect? Here are some tips.

  • Temporarily disconnect your cellular device from Wi-Fi and use your cellular network.
  • Have the PingID app open and ready for the PingID push.
  • Check your PingID profile at link.ou.edu/pingID to ensure you are enrolled.
