How do I set up my OU account?

  • Check out our Set Up Your OUNet Account article. Setting up your account is the first step to accessing all digital resources that OU has to offer, including email, campus WiFi, Canvas, and your digital Sooner Card, just to name a few.

How do I access my OU email account?

  • Before you can access your email account, you'll need to make sure you have enrolled at least one device in PingID. See our PingID Enrollment article for instructions. 
  • Visit our Microsoft 365 Mail Instructions for links to specific articles on how to access via the web, Microsoft apps, or native mail apps on your phone.

How I connect to OU's WiFi networks?

  • WIFI@OU is the name of the network designated for use by anyone with an OU account. Take a look through our article on Connecting to WIFI@OU for instructions on how to connect.
  • Other networks are available for specific devices (such as SmartTVs in campus residences) and guests. You can read more about these networks in our OU WIFI Networks article. 

Speaking of WiFi...should I connect to the OUGuest network?

  • No. Users with an OU account (students, staff, faculty, etc.) should connect to WIFI@OU, not the OUGuest network.
  • For security reasons, some of OU IT’s services are not available via OUGuest.
  • If you have an OU account and have connected to the OUGuest network on accident, you should "forget" this network on your device an only connect to WIFI@OU moving forward.

My computer is broken. Is there a place on campus that might be able to fix it?

  • Yes, OU IT has two Service Centers on campus that can offer hardware support (i.e., issues with physical components of a device, such as a screen, keyboard, motherboard, memory, etc.) for eligible computers. If your device is eligible for repair, a diagnostic and/or repair fee may apply. Please review our Hardware Support on Campus article for more details.
  • Software support (i.e., issues with the device's operating system and/or specific software) is available at our Service Centers on a best-effort basis by OU IT student employees. 

Where are the computer labs on campus?

  • The labs that are located in Walker Tower Rm. 118 and in the Oklahoma Memorial Union Rm. 207 are available for use 24/7 and are accessible by using your Sooner Card (Student ID) at the door. We also have few additional Computer Labs that are available to specific subgroups of students.
  • The Bizzell Library has a computer lab on the main floor near the west entrance as well as laptops available for short-term loan

Where can I print on campus?

  • Wepa printer kiosks are available in several locations across campus. These kiosks allow you to print directly from Office365, Canvas, your phone, your email, etc. Please visit our Wepa Service Catalog page for locations of Wepa printers across campus.

What is Canvas?

I'm having trouble with my Sooner Card mobile ID. Who can help me?

  • If you have questions about your Sooner Card, how to activate the mobile ID, how to report a lost/stolen card, etc., please contact Sooner Card or visit them in person.
  • If you are experiencing an issue with PingID that is preventing you from utilizing your mobile ID, please contact OU IT.

I'm lost! Where is the building for my class?

  • An interactive map of OU buildings is available at http://ou.edu/map. It allows you to search for buildings by name. Just click on the correct result, and you will be provided with the location and other details!
  • OU's mobile app also offers a campus map at your fingertips. Visit the Apple Store or Google Play Store to download the app.
