DIALING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To call another extension within the campus phone system, dial the 5-digit extension. For 405-271 numbers, the extension is 1 + the last four digits of the number. For example, the extension of 405-271-1234 would be 11234.
  2. To call locally from campus, dial 9 + Area Code + 7-digit number.
  3. To call long distance:
    • Direct Dial -- 9 + 1 + Area Code + 7-digit number, wait for confirmation tone, and dial Authorization Code
    • Calling Card Calls -- 9 + Dial Access Number on card and follow instructions
    • Toll Free Calls -- 9 + 1 + 8xx + 7-digit number
    • International Calls -- 9 + 011 + Country Code + City Code + Number + Authorization Code
  4. Directory Assistance
    • For OUHSC personnel and agencies, Dial "0"
    • Off-campus Local information, dial 9 + 1411
    • Off-campus Long Distance information, dail 9 + 1 + Area Code + 555-1212 + Authorization Code
    • Toll Free information, dial 9 + 1 + 800 + 555-1212

 

NOTE:  The OU Health Sciences Center allows persons to place long distance calls through the use of authorization codes.  Each person is responsible for calls placed using his/her authorization code.  Personal long distance calls on the Health Sciences Center Network are prohibited.  This policy compiles with the Conflicts of Interest Policy, Section 11-A2.

TELEPHONE FEATURES

Call Transfer
This feature allows you to send a call from your telephone to another extension or outside number.

  1. While on a call, press Transfer
  2. Dial the number to which the call is to be transferred
  3. Press Transfer again

Conference Feature
This feature allows you to conference up to six (6) parties, including yourself, on a call (Multi-line phones only)

  1. While on a call, press Conference
  2. Dial the number of the new party & wait for an answer
  3. Press conference again to join parties
  4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for additional conference connections

Call Pickup
This feature lets you answer a call at your telephone for another extension in your pickup group.

  1. Get dial tone
  2. Press the Call Pickup button if administered or dial Call Pickup Code *1

Call Forwarding All Calls
This feature temporarily forwards all your calls to another extension or an outside number.

  1. Get dial tone
  2. Press the Call Forward button if administered or dial the Call Forward Code *4
  3. Dial the extension or number where calls will be sent
  4. Listen for confirmation tone

Cancel Call Forwarding

  1. Get dial tone
  2. Press the Call Forward Cancel button if administered or dial the Call Forward Cancel Code #4
  3. Listen for confirmation tone

Send All Calls
This feature redirects your unanswered call to a predetermined alternate answering position, such as voice mail

  1. Get dial tone
  2. Press the Send Call button if administered or dial the Send Calls Code *2

Cancel Send All Calls

  1. Get dial tone
  2. Press the Send Calls Cancel button if administered or dial the Send Calls Code #2

VOICE MAIL

  1. Accessing
    • On-Campus -- Dial 18002 and follow instructions
    • Off-Campus -- Dial 271-8002 and follow instructions
