Long Distance Access (PBN)

A long distance access code (PBN) allows for accountability of calls, and provides a mechanism to identify and bill costs to the user's department. Long distance calls cannot be made through the OUHSC network without a PBN.

PBN are to be used for job-related purposes only. Personal calls are not to be placed when using a PBN. Any long distance calls identified as personal or unauthorized may result in charges to the individual, and other disciplinary actions may occur.

There is no monthly fee for a long distance access code; charges are billed only when the code has been used to make long distance calls. By requesting a PBN, you acknowledge that the department will be responsible for all calls made while using the code.

To call long distance using a PBN:

  • National Calls-- 9 + 1 + Area Code + 7-digit number, wait for confirmation tone, and dial Authorization Code
  • International Calls -- 9 + 011 + Country Code + City Code + Number + Authorization Code
