In order to access to some university websites/services, users are required to be connected to the campus network. The "campus network" is defined as being connected to a university WiFi network (i.e., WIFI@OU), campus ethernet (wired) connection, or the OU VPN.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates a means for private communication between geographically distributed locations. The VPN offered by OU creates a secure connection between any remote site and assets on the OU network, such as HR Self Service, file servers, data stores, Virtual Labs, or other applications, which require access from a campus network. Once the VPN is installed, users will log in using their OU username and password.
Utilizing the VPN also requires authentication via PingID MFA. For information on PingID, please visit our PingID Multi-Factor Authentication and/or PingID Enrollment articles.
