Red Hat Enterprise Linux is an open-source Unix-like operating system and the leading enterprise distribution of Linux by worldwide market share.  It is based on Fedora Server, a free Red Hat-sponsored distribution, and is the foundation for CentOS, Scientific Linux, and Oracle Linux.  To request an ISO and activation key, click “Request Install Package”.
Note: This catalog item assumes you will be providing your own hardware and doing your own support.  If you need virtual server hosting, please visit the Shared Services catalog and request Virtual Server Hosting instead.  You will have the option to request Red Hat Enterprise Linux as your OS.  Virtual Server Hosting comes with support and is a paid service.

This software is free to eligible Norman-campus faculty, staff and students with active OU accounts.

Availability

Red Hat Enterprise Linux with academic self-support licensing is available to Norman faculty, staff, and students and may be installed on university-owned machines. The software may be used for teaching and learning purposes and is available in server and workstation editions.
