What is Hypothes.is?
Hypothes.is is a Canvas integration that adds a collaborative layer to course materials. Through social annotation, users can engage in meaningful discussions, highlight important points, and share insights with others. Hypothes.is enhances your online teaching experience by enabling students to engage deeper with articles, websites, videos, documents, and more.
Once the Hypothes.is integration is enabled for your Canvas course(s):
- You can enable Hypothesis on select readings (public web pages, EPUBS and PDFs).
- Students don’t need to install anything.
- Students don’t need to sign up for or log in to separate accounts.
- You can create ungraded and/or graded “annotation sets”.
- Review graded “annotation sets” in SpeedGrader.
Check out the Hypothes.is knowledge base and YouTube channel for more details on how the Canvas integration works.
