Dropbox for Business is a file hosting service that connects files, devices and teams. With Dropbox for Business, you can store, sync and share various file types with both external organizations, and teams at OU. File syncing and concurrent editing make collaboration and document sharing a breeze.
Download the Dropbox application for the ability to access your files and folders on multiple devices. With Dropbox for business, users get even more security and collaboration features along with more storage space. Dropbox for Business has no file type restrictions, no operating system requirements, and no size limits. Your recipients can access the latest file version without installing software, navigating FTP servers, or searching through email.
Please note that if you wish to remove or transfer and existing OU Dropbox for Business license, there will be a 30 day suspension period before full account removal or the transfer of any requested files.
Dropbox for Business accounts are available for $106 per user, per year, with an annual contract. Licenses are renewed annually on July 1st and licenses purchased after July 1st will be pro-rated by the monthly rate. If the licenses are purchased after the 15th of the month, billing will start on the 1st of the following month. Licenses purchased prior to the 15th of the month will be billed for the current month.
Licenses may be cancelled at the end of the annual contract, between June 1st and June 30th to avoid being billed for another year.
Dropbox for Business accounts are available for full-time OU faculty and staff, OU affiliated agency users who have current OUNet accounts and current OU student employees. Due to compliance restrictions, The Athletics Department and Goddard Health Services are unable to purchase Dropbox licenses.
Dropbox for Business offers additional storage over Dropbox Basic, file recovery and sharing controls. Sharing controls allow you to manage permissions for your data. Shared folders and shared links may be customized to allow specific permissions across a team or group and audit logs are available to review access and permissions.
When sharing files, users may choose to give temporary access by choosing to share an expiring link for added security.
The Dropbox desktop application allows users to access Dropbox through a folder on the hard drive. When files and folders are saved to the Dropbox folder, they are automatically synchronized to Dropbox online along with any other computers or mobile devices linked to your account.
