Multiplayer network functionality varies by game and system. Due to our security settings, OU network infrastructure does not support peer to peer connections needed for some games, voice chats and multi-player features. Additionally, OU IT will not open ports or change NAT types for campus residents.
- OU IT encourages anyone in the university community to look into the OU Esports & Co-Curricular Innovation Department for information on how and where you can experience gaming on campus.
- The Esports & Gaming Complex is the only place on campus where OU Provided Wi-Fi allows for full multiplayer and network capability for Nintendo Switches.
- If you wish to connect your device on the OU Wi-Fi network, you will need to follow instructions on our AccessOU page to register it and connect to the AccessOU network.
- If you have an active ethernet port in your residence and want to register your device for the wired network, please visit our Register a Wired Device page.
If you have registered your device, but are having issues connecting, please visit the Game Console Network Status Check page. If you've never been able to get your console on the network, even after registering it and following our instructions in the articles listed above, please submit a ticket with your device type, location, MAC address and what network error you are receiving.
