Account owners, admins, and users can enable or disable My Notes features in the Zoom web portal and desktop app, controlling whether My Notes is available, whether meeting or webinar audio can be transcribed, if notes can be enhanced, whether participants, panelists, and attendees can use My Notes transcription, and whether My Notes email notifications and automatic voice activity detection are available. These settings can be managed at the account, group, or user level.
Enable or disable the My Notes feature for your personal account
This setting allows individual users to enable or disable the My Notes feature for their personal account. You do not need admin permissions to change the setting, unless it is locked by an admin for the entire account or a group of users.
- Sign into the Zoom web portal at https://oklahoma.zoom.us/.
- In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Settings.
- In the side menu on the left, click Notes under the Settings
drop-down.
- Under My Notes, click the Enable My Notes toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- (Optional) If Enable My Notes is enabled, you can enable or disable the following settings under General as needed:
- Transcribe my meetings with My Notes: Enable or disable the ability for you to create My Notes transcriptions using system and microphone audio, so notes can be enhanced with transcript-based content.
- Transcribe my Zoom Phone calls with My Notes: Leave this setting disabled as we don't subscribe to Zoom Phone.
- Auto-save recordings of non-Zoom meetings in My Notes on mobile: Enable or disable whether recordings for notes created outside meetings will be auto-saved once the note is complete. This function is mobile only.
- (Optional) If Enable My Notes is enabled, you can enable or disable the following settings under Zoom AI for My Notes as needed:
- Allow Zoom AI to generate content in My Notes: Enable or disable the ability for the AI to automatically enrich and expand your notes using the meeting transcript.
- (Optional) If Enable My Notes is enabled, you can enable or disable the following settings under My Notes in meeting as needed:
- Allow participants to transcribe meetings with My Notes: If enabled, only hosts can stop My Notes in meetings.
- Allow panelists and attendees to transcribe webinars with My Notes: If enabled, only hosts can stop My Notes in webinars.
- Note: If any of the above options are grayed out, they have been locked at the account or group level and need to be changed at that level.
