Removable Media Exemption Request Process

  1. Email GRC@ou.edu and cc scott-luney@ouhsc.edu and TulsaITClientSupServices@ouhsc.edu and provide a business justification for the exemption request.  The computer name as well as the username(s) will need to be provided as well.  A username(s) is needed, as the exemption is only allowable when the specified person(s) is logged into the computer.
  2. Once the exception is granted, a member of IT – Client Support will work with IT GRC to gather the needed information from the removable media device.  NOTE: The exception is granted per removable media device, not the computer. 
  3. The information will be given to IT SecOps and they will whitelist the device.  Once this is complete, a member of IT - Client Support will perform testing with the customer.
