A recent change was made by Peoplesoft that may result in the following permissions error messages when accessing multiple Peoplesoft applications:
- "The application was unable to route the session back to the login page. The application was unable to determine your session and your login page. A possible cause could be using a bookmark to access the application. In order to start a new session, return to your organization's main login page."
- Access Denied: Access to this page is not allowed while using the Self Service URL.
The update now makes it more difficult to operate multiple instances of Peoplesoft from one browser application. Most OU employees only utilize one version of Peoplesoft through HR Self Service at selfservehc.ou.edu. An additional subset of OU employees, also have access to Peoplesoft Financials and Supple Chain Management (FSCM) or Peoplesoft Human Capital Management (HCM). When an OU user has access to both Self Service and FSCM/HCM, the Peoplesoft application will have caching issues being able to differentiate between the two user roles.
To alleviate the issue, please try the following.
- When done with your task, do not just close your browser, instead fully sign out of Peoplesoft. You may do this by clicking the three vertical dots of the Menu button in the top right corner, then select "Sign Out".

- Always ensure that you do not have more than one Peoplesoft tab open in the same browser.
- Consider using one browser for FSCM/HCM and a different browser (like Chrome, Edge or Safari) for HR Self Services (selfservehc.ou.edu).
- If none of these options work at first, please delete your browser cache for "all time", not just for the last few hours. For a listing of browser cache clearing instructions, please visit our Clear Cookies and Cache article.
