Student / Faculty-Staff OU Web Pages

OU is beginning to transition to new hosting options for personal OU webpages. Existing personal webpages may be transferred to Create.ou.edu.

Student webpages hosted on students.ou.edu were decommissioned December 2015.

On July 31, 2016, websites on faculty-staff.ou.edu will be taken offline. The OU Center for Teaching Excellence has worked alongside OU IT to make sure that faculty/staff have the opportunity to both maintain existing faculty-staff.ou.edu web address as well as all of the files on the server.

Where can I host my OU website now?

 

Create.ou.edu provides domain names and web space to members of the OU community, encouraging individuals to explore the creation and development of their digital identities. Users have access to a wide variety of open source tools to create and maintain websites and leaves the data in their control. This includes popular open-source applications such as WordPress, MediaWiki, Drupal, and Omeka. If you wish to set up a create.ou.edu, click here for instructions.

Faculty/Staff wishing to keep both the address and the files, will need to indicate this by signing up for a web account on create.ou.edu before July 31. After you sign up for your new OU Create domain, a prompt will appear asking if you would like us to migrate your files for you. Simply check this box and click Sign Up.

Your files will be migrated within 48 hours from the old system to your OU Create space and your old address will automatically forward to the new address. If you already have an OU Create account, you can fill out our contact form to request a redirect and/or migration.
