MyMedia - Updating to the v7 Video Player

Introduction: 

Kaltura has enabled a new set of video players, called the v7 video players.  These new players control the look and functionality of the video playback. These new players are now the default players on the MyMedia.ou.edu page, and anywhere a video or playlist has been embedded - for example on your webpage or added into a Canvas course.

The OU Kaltura admin team is working to upgrade video players from the old v2 to the new v7 players in the Kaltura/MyMedia settings. This process is ongoing, but should automatically update videos to the new player. These upgrades should be complete by summer 2026.

There may be instances where a video that is embedded into a webpage or a Canvas course may not auto-update. You will need to complete a few steps to manually update your player.

Updating your video to the V7 Player

If you see a pop-up message at the beginning of one of your videos warning that your video player is depreciated, then you will need to update that video manually by re-embedding it into your webpage or Canvas course.
