Viewing your email and calendar
Outlook Web App lets you access your email and calendar right from the home page. You can check email, send messages, and set up meetings from the browser.
View your email
When you open Outlook Web App, the first thing you’ll see is your Inbox. This is where messages sent to you arrive, and where you can view and respond to your emails.
- Sign in to Microsoft 365 with your work or school account at https://office.com For example, ellen@contoso.onmicrosoft.com, ellen@contoso.edu, or ellen@contoso.com. If you’re not sure what your work or school account is, check the welcome email message that asked you to sign in the first time.
- At the top of the page, select Outlook. Or, select the app launcher
, and then select Outlook.
- Your Inbox folder is in the navigation pane, messages listed in the middle pane and shown in the reading pane.
- The reading pane is where the selected conversation is displayed. You can respond to your email message by using Reply, Reply all, or Forward at the top of a message.
View your calendar
Your calendar lets you create and track appointments and meetings. You can view your calendar by day, week, work week or month.
- At the top of the page, select Calendar. Or, select and then Calendar.
- Week view is the default view when you first visit your calendar in Outlook Web App. Select Day, Work week,Week, or Month to change your calendar view.
- Select any event in your calendar to see a quick view of that event.
- A meeting that you’ve been invited to will show the organizer and will include links to respond to the invitation.
Using Outlook Web App on a mobile device
If you’re using Outlook Web App on a mobile device such as a tablet or a smartphone, you’ll see that most features work the same as they do when you’re using Outlook Web App on a desktop or a laptop computer, but some things are done a little bit differently.
- Tap the Navigation icon in the lower left corner to switch between Mail and Calendar.
- Tap the More icon to see more selections, such as Options, Help, and Settings.
