CD Direct Patient DVD Instructions

The purpose of this document is to provide a quick walk through on how to create a DVD of a patient’s images stored on the Philips PACS using the Philips CD Direct system.

NOTE: If there are more than 15 images needed for a DVD, a ticket will need to sent to the IT Service Desk to get the DVD(s) created.

  1. Using your network credentials log into the PACS archive: https://tulvuemo.tulsa.net.ou.edu/archive or https://imaging.ouhsc.edu/archive PACS archive
  2. Once the Archive Explorer loads, locate the Search field at the top of the screen. Enter the patient’s name, MRN or study accession number. Archive Explorer
  3. Locate the study you want to export to DVD and select it.
  4. Select the “Share” tab.
  5. Select “Burn to CD”. “Share” tab area
  6. The next screen to pop up will allow you to select the CD/DVD burner to use. Please select the one that is appropriate for your area. Then click on “Burn to CD”. CD/DVD selection options for what burner to use
  7. A message will pop up at the bottom of the screen to let you know the job was submitted. CD/DVD Burn Window
  8. Locate the hourglass at the top of the screen next to the search field. This is the “Spooler” it will allow you to verify the job was submitted. Click on it. Hourglass at the top of the screen next to the search field.
  9. Most of the time you will not see the status in the “In Progress”. If you do, that means there are several jobs ahead of you in the queue. Spooler screen example
  10. Click on the “Done” button. You should see an image like the one below. If you do not there is an issue with job, you submitted. Try repeating the process. If the issue persists, please put in a ticket to the IT Service Desk. When contacting the IT Service Desk, let them know you are having an Issue with the PACS CD Direct system. This will help them route the ticket to the correct team to assist with this issue. Spooler screen example
  11. The DVD should be in the CD Direct system in the area you submitted the job. You can retrieve the DVD and send it on to the patient. If you have more to do, simply close the Spooler tab and this will take you back to the Archive Explorer to burn another DVD.
