When using Wifi on campus, please ensure that you are connecting to WIFI@OU and not the Guest Wireless.

Taking an exam in Respondus Lockdown Browser

Turn off your device notifications and disable sleep before you take an exam. Both of these can interfere with your exam experience with Respondus Lockdown Browser.

If using a laptop, turn off the trackpad gestures.

From D2L: Navigate to the exam in your regular browser and click Launch Lockdown Browser.

Canvas has two exam engines: Canvas Classic Quizzes and Canvas New Quizzes. To determine which one you're taking, please reference the graphic below.

1) For Canvas Classic Quizzes (white rocket with green outline): Launch Respondus Lockdown Browser, scroll down the landing page, and click the Canvas link. You will then log into Canvas within Respondus Lockdown Browser and navigate to the exam.

2) For Canvas New Quizzes (solid green rocket): Navigate to the exam in your regular browser and launch Lockdown Browser.

 

Save your answers frequently!
 

 

Respondus Technical Support:

If Respondus Lockdown Browser freezes, there is very little you can do other than give your device a hard restart. Immediately notify your instructor you are having an issue. If you are still within the time allotted for the exam you should be able to enter after restarting your device without issue as long as you have not submitted your exam.

Please note that while OU IT can provide general support regarding setting up Respondus LockDown Browser, questions beyond the initial technical setup of Respondus LDB should be handled by Respondus Support directly.
