Installing the Office Suite for Microsoft 365 – For Windows

Upon logging in to http://portal.office365.com with your OU/OUHSC e-mail address and password, one will see an option to install Office on your computer.

Office for Windows

1. To download the Office Suite, log into Microsoft 365 at http://portal.office365.com.
2. At the top of the page, one should see “Install Office”. Click the Install link to go to the suite download page.
3. Next select to install the Microsoft 365 Apps options.
4. If you wish to install the 64-Bit version of Office, click the ‘Other install options’ link. In the Apps and Devices section, you can then select ’64-bit’ from the drop-down menu. Finally click the Install button to install the 64-Bit version.
5. Your browser should now prompt whether you want to run or save the installer file for Microsoft 365 Pro Plus. Running the installation file will automatically begin the installation once it finishes downloading, whereas saving the installation file requires you to find the file and run it once the download completes.
6. On the User Account Control prompt, click ‘Yes.’ The Office installer will now load.
   • If you receive a warning prompt because it detected Windows Installer based version of older Office products, please see this page before proceeding.
7. Office will now install, a progress bar should fill during this process. Once it completes, click the Close button.
8. Office is now installed on your computer. The programs should now be listed in your Start menu programs list.
9. Upon loading one of these programs for the first time, you will be prompted to Accept the license agreement. Click Accept to proceed. Your program should now open.
10. Your new installation of Office should now be registered to your computer at: http://portal.office365.com
