Set up Microsoft 365 and Mail on iOS

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote applications designed for your iOS devices are now available for download. Please see this page for iPhone download options and this page for iPad download options.

If you are setting up your device or if you have recently changed your password, you may configure your device using the settings below. Please note you will also need to setup PingID Multi-Factor Authentication, as you may be prompted to approve the authentication of your username and password.

Set up 365 email on your iOS devices through iOS settings

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on “Passwords & Accounts.” Alternately you may need to select Mail, then Accounts.
  3. Tap on “Add Account.”
  4. Tap on “Exchange.”
  5. Type in your full OU email address in the “Email” field (ex.: john.t.roberts-1@ou.edu or john-roberts@ouhsc.edu). If you have set up an OU e-mail alias (ex.: jtroberts@ou.edu), use this address instead.
  6. Type in a name for the account in the “Description” field. This can be anything you want, such as “OU” or “OU Email.”
  7. Select the option to Sign In.
  8. Enter your OU email address into the Username field. Please note if you have an OU email alias configured, you must use that version of your OU email address for the username field.
  9. Enter your OU password in the Password field. Then hit Next.
  10. You should now receive a PingID Multi-Factor prompt to approve. Please note this prompt will help signify you are using modern and not legacy authentication.
  11. Select the services you would like to sync with your device. To access email, “Mail” must be selected. Selecting “Contacts” will allow searching in the Global Address Book, as well as the syncing of your Outlook contacts to your device.
  12. Tap Save.

Set up 365 email on your iOS devices through Outlook App

  1. Click the Outlook App and then hit the Get Started button.
  2. Swipe right until your have the Add an Account button. Select this.
  3. Select Microsoft 365.
  4. Enter your OU e-mail address.
  5. Enter your OU password. Note that you may then be prompted to enter your OU password a second time.
  6. Select Sign in.
  7. Your mailbox should now load and be added.
