Learn more about using Web Mail

Web Mail, also referred to as Outlook Web Access (OWA), allows you to access your OUHSC e-mail from just about anywhere.  You can use Web Mail to manage your e-mail, calendars, shared calendars and personal information.  Below are some common questions and features available to you through the Web Mail.  You can access Web Mail at https://webmail.ouhsc.edu/

What you need to know:

  • The default view for your Web Mail Inbox is the "Conversations" view.  The Conversations view allows you to see all messages pertaining to a specific thread, regardless of the folder that the message is stored in.  This allows you to quickly identify the most recent messages and any related responses. If you find the Conversations view difficult to use, select "View" from the menu directly above the "Search Entire Mailbox" field and uncheck "Use Conversations".  If "Use Conversations" does not have a check next to it, you are not currently using the Conversation view.
  • Private vs. Public login:
    • Public Login - Select this option if you use Web Mail on a public computer. Be sure to sign out when you've finished and close all windows to end your session.  With Public login you are timed out after 15 minutes of inactivity.
    • Private Login - Select this option if you're the only person who uses this computer. Your server will allow a longer period of inactivity before signing you out.  With Private login are you timed out after 8 hours of inactivity.
