 Database as a Service is a managed service, offered on a pay-per-usage basis, that provides on-demand access to a database for the storage of application data. We offer two separate solutions, Oracle and SQL.
Each solution has several offerings:

| Oracle Database as a service (ODBaaS) provides a convenient option for deploying enterprise ready databases running in the OU Shared Services Data Centers. This service offers rapid provisioning, high and consistent performance, and excellent support. ODBaaS is fast, flexible, simple, and scalable. |
Shared Services SQL Database is a relational database-as-a-service that delivers predictable performance, scalability, business continuity, data protection, and near-zero administration to developers, departments and other application providers. |

Oracle Schema
The shared instance requires less configuration on the part of the customers and has built in redundancy and disaster recovery.

The database is fully customizable by the customer and both redundancy and disaster recovery options are available at an additional cost.

The shared instance requires less configuration on the part of the customers and has built in redundency and disaster recovery.
