Adding External Tools to your Course in Canvas

To add an external tool to your course:

1. Click on Modules in the navigation bar, and either create a new module (+Module) or edit an existing module.
2. In the appropriate module, click the + icon in the header to add an item to the module; select External Tool from the dropdown menu.               
3. Select the desired LTI tool from the list.
4. Check the ‘Load in a new tab’ box.
5. Click Add item to save.                                                                                                                                    
6. Click the Publish icon to the right of the LTI tool link.                                                                                                                                                                                                  
7. If the module is not yet published, click the Publish icon to the right of the module title.                               
8. Click the link for the app to test the integration.
