Sending a File in Zoom Meetings or Webinars

File transfer is a useful feature that allows participants to send and receive files during a meeting or webinar through the in-meeting or in-webinar chat function. This makes it easier to share important documents, presentations, images, and other resources in real time without leaving the session. Files may be shared with all participants, a specific individual participant, or predefined groups, such as all panelists in a webinar. This feature is available if the account owner or admin has it enabled.

How to Send Files in a Zoom Meeting

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app
  2. Start or join a meeting.
  3. In the meeting controls toolbar, click Chat .
  4. (Optional) In the top-right, tap New chat next to Everyone and select a specific meeting participant.
  5. In the message box, click the File icon , then click Your Computer to send a local file:
Note: You can also send a file from a third-party file sharing service like Microsoft OneDrive or SharePoint.
  6. Click Send .

A green check mark will show if the file has been sent successfully. Meeting participants can download and view the shared file by clicking on it from the chat window.

How to Send Files in a Zoom Webinar
