Rave Desktop Alerts Install Guide

RAVE Desktop Alert is now available. To install you will need to be on a University owned device.

Using Software Center you can install the RAVE Desktop client which is another way to receive certain emergency alerts on a computer. This could be helpful for Faculty that are teaching in class and might not see an alert of imminent threat to campus on their personal device.

Windows Install

  1. Click to Open or search (Tap your Windows key and type) Software Center. Windows Search with words Software Center typed in
  2. Click to open Software Center.
  3. Once Open, click the Applications tab. Software Center with Applications listed
  4. Click to select Rave Mobile Safety. Rave installer page in Software Center
  5. Now click the Install button.
  6. Once installed an “OU” logo will be present in the notification area. Windows Notification area with apps listed, including OU logo for new RAVE notification app
  7. In case of emergency that warrants an OU Alert be sent to the campus community, RAVE will automatically flash a message on users' screens, warning the campus community of imminent danger, such as a tornado warning. The user must be logged onto an OU server via WIFI or Ethernet connection to receive the desktop notification. Example RAVE alert on Windows desktop
