Requesting a Respondus Monitor Video

Body

Overview

Respondus Monitor is a fully automated proctoring solution that is used through Respondus LockDown Browser. Students use a webcam to record themselves during an online exam. Afterward, flagged events and proctoring results are available to the instructor within the LockDown Browser Dashboard in Canvas. If the instructor wants a copy of a student's videos for further review, please follow the instructions below to request a download link. All video download requests must be approved by the Respondus Monitor administrator.

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. In your Canvas course, navigate to the LockDown Browser Dashboard. The Lockdown Browser dashboard with the down-arrow button, class results option, and plus button outlined with a crimson rectangle accompanied by the text Step 2 and Step 3.
  2. On the LockDown Browser Dashboard in your Canvas course, select the down-arrow button of the Respondus Monitor enabled quiz, then select Class Results.
  3. Select the Plus button next to the student you want to review. Three blank video thumbnails with timestamps under it. Anchor text says request video download and is bordered with a crimson rectangle outline and the words Step 4 and 6 above.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the thumbnails, then select the Request Video Download link to open the request form.
    • After selecting the link, you may need to scroll back up to see the form.
    • If you do not see the link, please wait up to 48 hours since exam submission for video processing to complete. The request video download form with the words step 5 on the top-center of it.
  5. Fill out the form and select Submit.
    • Once the video download request is approved, you will need to go back to the Request Video Download link from step 4 which will be replaced by a Download Video link.
    • The Respondus Monitor admin will need time to approve your download request and will send a confirmation mail when it is approved.
  6. The link to download is only valid for 72 hours, so it is recommended that you download the videos directly to your computer and either upload it to your OneDrive or upload the video to your MyMedia account.
