Save BitLocker Recovery Key to USB

When encrypting your device using BitLocker, you be asked how you wish to back up your recovery key.

Using Save to a file

1. Make sure the USB is inserted and recognized by the computer.
2. Select the Save to file option in the BitLocker Drive Encryption screen.                
3. In File Explorer, select the USB stick on the left, select where in the USB you want the recovery key, then click “Save.”            
4. It is vital that you have your Recovery Key saved somewhere that is not on the computer that you are trying to encrypt.
