How to determine your Windows operating system version

If you need to determine what version of Windows you are running, you may do so by following these steps:

1. To begin, click on the Windows Start button on your taskbar.
2. Click the Settings option (shown by a gear icon)
3. In the upper left corner, click System.
4. On the left menu list, click on About, it should be near the bottom.
5. Under Windows specifications, the Edition should be listed. The processor type, if needed, will be listed on the "System type" line.
