How to Request Support for NVivo
- Support for NVivo is provided by the software vendor. You may request support in one of the following ways:
- Support is available Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Time, excluding local and/or national holidays.
Install and License NVivo (by creating a myNVivo account - RECOMMENDED)
- Go to https://portal.mynvivo.com/account
- Sign in if you have an account and skip to step 6.
- If you do not have an account, click the “Sign up now” button.
- Enter basic account information.
- First Name and Last Name
- OU Email Address (click the Send Verification Code and enter the code that is sent to your email)
- Password
- Accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
- Click “Create Account”
- Enter account type information.
- Industry: Academic
- Customer Type: Individual
- Country: United States
- State: Oklahoma
- Obtain your license key from OU IT.
- Go to https://itsoftware.ou.edu.
- Enter your OU username and password, then click “Login”
- Click on “NVivo”
- Copy your License Key (highlight the key, right-click it, and select “Copy”)
- Go to https://portal.mynvivo.com/account/licence-registration
- Enter in your License Key (right-click the text box and select “Paste”)
- Click “Submit”
- On success, you should see a message saying “The license key has been registered against your myNVivo profile”.
- Click the “Download NVivo” button.
- Download the appropriate NVivo installer (Windows or Mac).
- Run the downloaded installer to install NVivo.
- Open NVivo.
- Click “Log into myNVivo”.
- You should be redirected to a sign in site on your browser. Sign in with the account you created and registered your license key with.
- Close the sign in window and continue back to NVivo.
- Select “The University of Oklahoma”.
- On success, you should see “Your license has now been activated”.
- Click “OK”.
- Set up your user profile by entering your name and initials, then click “OK”.
- With NVivo setup complete, you may begin using the software.
Install and License NVivo (without a myNVivo account)
- Go to https://itsoftware.ou.edu.
- Enter your OU username and password, then click “Login”
- Click on “NVivo”
- Click on the appropriate download link to download the software.
- WIN 64-bit NVivo for Windows devices
- MAC NVivo for Mac devices
- After the download finishes, run the installer and install NVivo.
- Windows: NVivo.x64.exe
- Mac: NVivo.dmg
- Open NVivo
- To activate, click “or provide enterprise key to activate”.
- Copy/paste the license key (from the IT Software Catalog with the download link).
- Review the user acknowledgement and click the checkbox.
- Click “Next”.
- Fill out the required information for License Activation and click “Activate”.
- On success, you should see a message saying “Your license has been activated”.
- Click “OK”.
- Set up your user profile by entering your name and initials, then click “OK”.
- With NVivo setup complete, you may begin using the software.
Update Your License Key
To update the license key for an existing installation on Windows:
- Make sure the computer is connected to the internet.
- Close any NVivo projects that are open.
- Open NVivo
- File --> Product Info --> Manage License --> Deactivate License
- Confirm deactivation
- NVivo will automatically close
- Reopen NVivo
- Click "provide enterprise key to activate"
- Input new license key and fill out required information
