Campus Voicemail Android Mobile App
NOTE: If you're interested in using your smartphone to manage your voicemail, you must first go to the Voicemail Web Portal and add your mobile number by going to Personal Settings > Phone Numbers.
- The campus voicemail system works with the AVST Mobile Android application, which is available in the Google Play Store. Please follow the instructions below to install and setup the application.
- Go to the Play store on your Android device and search for avst mobile. This should bring up the AVST Mobile application as shown below. Install and open the application.
- When you open the application for the first time, it will ask if you wish to receive notifications. Select Allow if you wish to receive voicemail notifications on your Android device, then select Login in the bottom right corner.
- You will be prompted for the voicemail server address. Enter hscvoicemail.ouhsc.edu/cxm and select Next from the upper right hand corner.
- You will now be prompted for your voicemail box information. For Username, enter your Extension. For Security Code, enter your voicemail password. For Phone Number, enter the phone number of the Android device you are setting up, include the area code as shown below. Select Next from the upper right hand corner.
- Next, you will be prompted to choose a notification type. Incoming calls and updates will send notifications for incoming calls, new voicemails, and missed calls. Updates Only will send notifications for new voicemails and missed calls only.
- The last step will ask if you wish to participate in analytics. This will send information to AVST to allow developers to improve the mobile app. While helpful to the AVST developers, it can reduce your battery run-time. We recommend turning analytics off. Select Finish to complete the setup.
- You should now be successfully connected to your mailbox via the Android AVST Mobile application.
For more information on using the mobile application, please see the Android Voicemail Reference Guide.
