To enable long passwords (any password longer than a 4 digit “simple passcode”), you will need to do the following:
If you do not have a current passcode on your device:
- Go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock
- Slide the “Simple Passcode” option to “Off”
- Tap “Turn Passcode On” and enter your desired password
- You will be prompted for this password again for confirmation
If you do have a current passcode on your device:
- Go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock
- You will be prompted for your current passcode
- Slide the “Simple Passcode” option to “Off”
- You will be prompted for your current passcode for confirmation
- Enter your desired password
- You will be prompted for this password again for confirmation
