The University of Oklahoma will be decommissioning OU Create on December 31, 2025. If you would like to keep your site and/or contents, you must choose one of three options before December 31.
What’s happening?
The OU Create service is being discontinued. The University’s contract with Reclaim Hosting (the OU Create platform provider) ends on December 31, 2025. A Transition Plan with three options was provided and is attached to this article as a PDF. It covers backups, migrations, and alternatives.

Transition OPTION 1 is available for those OU Create accounts that are officially sponsored websites by an OU department or affiliated unit, e.g., academic, course support, grant, research, etc. If your OU Create account is for personal purposes, refer to OPTION 2 as you may still transfer or export your site, but you will need to purchase new hosting with personal funds. If you are unsure the direction you would like to go, please refer to OPTION 3 to save an archive of your site for future use.

What happens if I do nothing?
After December 31, 2025, your OU Create site will no longer be available. Recovery options are limited.
