How to Request Support for NVivo

Request an NVivo License

  1. Go to the NVivo Service Request form.
  2. Click "Request Service"
  3. Select the individual which requires the license.
  4. You will receive an email from NVivo with your specific license within 2-3 business days.

Install and License NVivo (by creating a myNVivo account - RECOMMENDED)

  1. Go to https://my.lumivero.com/
  2. Sign in if you have an account and skip to step 6.
  3. If you do not have an account, click the “Sign up now” button.
  4. Enter basic account information.
    1. First Name and Last Name
    2. OU Email Address (click the Send Verification Code and enter the code that is sent to your email)
    3. Password
    4. Accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
    5. Click “Create Account”
  5. Enter account type information.
    1. Industry: Academic
    2. Customer Type: Individual
    3. Country: United States
    4. State: Oklahoma
  6. Request your NVivo license key from OU IT.
  7. Go back to https://my.lumivero.com/
  8. Under Available Products, select NVivo and download the file for the installer.
  9. Click the file to install. 
    1. Enter in your License Key (right-click the text box and select “Paste”) NVivo Registration Pop up Window
    2. Click “Submit”
    3. On success, you should see a message saying “The license key has been registered against your myNVivo profile”.

  11. Download the appropriate NVivo installer (Windows or Mac).
  12. Run the downloaded installer to install NVivo.
  13. Open NVivo.
  14. Click “Log into myNVivo”.
  15. You should be redirected to a sign in site on your browser. Sign in with the account you created and registered your license key with.
  16. Close the sign in window and continue back to NVivo.
  17. Select “The University of Oklahoma”. 
  18. On success, you should see “Your license has now been activated”. NVivo License activated pop up
  19. Click “OK”.
  20. Set up your user profile by entering your name and initials, then click “OK”.
  21. With NVivo setup complete, you may begin using the software.

 

Update Your License Key

To update the license key for an existing installation on Windows:

  1. To update the license key for an existing installation on Windows:
  2. Make sure the computer is connected to the internet.
  3. Close any NVivo projects that are open.
  4. Open NVivo
    • File --> Product Info --> Manage License --> Deactivate License
      • Confirm deactivation
      • NVivo will automatically close
  5. Reopen NVivo
    • Click "provide enterprise key to activate"
    • Input new license key and fill out required information
