System Requirements

Qualtrics Offline Surveys is a downloadable application available for iOS and Android that allows you to administer surveys on your mobile device or tablet without an internet connection. Responses can be collected in the field on your device and then uploaded back into Qualtrics as soon as you have an internet connection.

Technical requirements:

• iOS 9.0 or later or Android 5.0 or greater (mobile)
• Windows OS 7.0 or greater (desktop)
• Either the App Store or Google Play store must be installed
• Device is not jailbroken
• Not currently compatible with Amazon Fire tablets

How to set up the Qualtrics Offline App:

Check your API Token

First, make sure you have an API token. If you don’t have one, you will need to generate one. Qualtrics has a built-in button that will generate an API token for you, but only use it if you do not already have a token. The below steps will show how to check if you have a token, and how to generate one if you do not.

1. Log in to Qualtrics at survey.ou.edu. Click on the user settings icon in the top-right corner of your account.
   
2. Select Account Settings.
3. Click Qualtrics IDs on the navigation bar.
   
4. In the box labeled API, there is a row for the token. The token is a long string of letters and numbers. If you have one already, then this step is complete - do not generate a new one as this can affect other extensions you may have set up. However, if you do not have a token yet, click Generate Token.

Download the App

Second, download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store. If you are on a Windows desktop device, contact IT at 405-325-HELP and request the Offline App file for Windows. IT administrators will coordinate with Qualtrics to get a copy of the file.

1. Go to the iTunes App Store if you have an iPad or iPhone, or go to the Google Play Store if you have an Android device.
2. Search for “Qualtrics Offline Surveys.” Note: Qualtrics offers two different apps. OU has access to the one called "Qualtrics Surveys" that looks like a clipboard with a red Q. The app titled "Qualtrics XM" that has the blue/teal XM logo is not currently available for use with an OU account.
   
3. Download the Qualtrics Surveys app.

Log in to the App

Third, log in using SSO.

1. Instead of directly typing your OU login information, click Sign in with SSO at the bottom.
   
2. After clicking Sign in with SSO, enter ousurvey into the Organization ID field.
3. The OU SSO screen should appear. Log in with your OU NetID or OU credentials.
