Set up Microsoft 365 and Mail on Android

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote applications designed for your Android device are now available for download. Please see this page for Android Phone download options and this page for Android Tablet download options.

If you are setting up your device or if you have recently changed your password, you may configure your device using the settings below. Please note you will also need to setup PingID Multi-Factor authentication, as you may be prompted to approve the authentication of your username and password.

Set up email using Outlook for Android app

  1. Once Outlook for Android is installed, open the app and click the Microsoft 365 option.
  2. Enter your email alias, for example johnwilliamsmith@ou.edu, type your OUNet password, and then tap Sign in.

Set up email using OWA for Android App

  1. Tap Settings > Accounts > Add account > Email. This application might be named Mail on some versions of Android.
  2. Select email to add account.
  3. Type your full email address, for example, johnwilliamsmith@ou.edu type your OUNet password, and then tap Next.
  4. Select the Exchange option.
  5. You might receive a message about additional security features. If so, select OK to continue.
  6. Once the device verifies the server settings, the Account Options page opens. Accept the defaults or select the options for how you want to receive and send your mail, and then tap Next. (You may need to scroll down to see Next.)
  7. On the Set up email page you can change the name of your account. When you’re finished tap Done.

Set up email on your Android device – Using built-in Android mail app (Automatic)

To sign in, enter your email alias, for example: johnwilliamsmith@ou.edu, type your OUNet password, and then tap Sign in.

  • Your mailbox should now load and be added. If you receive a prompts asking if you wish to received notifications or share your information, please make your selections.
  • Select Sign in.
  • Enter your OU password.
  • Enter your OU e-mail address.
  • Click the OWA for Android App and then hit the Continue button if you have any App news/alert prompts.

If your device can’t connect make sure you typed your email address and password correctly and try again.
