Students: Before Submitting a Canvas Support Ticket, Please Read

You may see a course listed in Canvas but still be unable to access it.  In most cases, this is normal and does not require a ticket.   When looking for your courses, you should use the web and not mobile app.

The Canvas mobile app will not show Future Enrollments which is where your future semeser courses most likely will appear.

✅ When You Do NOT Need a Course Sync Ticket

  • The course appears in All Courses (canvas.ou.edu/courses) but you cannot enter it yet.
  • The course is published but access is unavailable.
  • The course is unpublished.
  • The course start date is in the future.

A course must be both:

  1. Published by the instructor, and
  2. Active on its course start date

before students can access it.

Most semester courses will become available on the day classes officially start.

✅ When You DO Need a Course Sync Ticket

Submit a Course Sync ticket only if:

  • You are officially enrolled in the course, and
  • The course does not appear in your All Courses list in Canvas.

Submit a Course Sync request: Canvas Support Request

Important Notes

  • Instructors control when courses become available. OU IT cannot activate courses for students.
  • If a course is still unavailable after the first day of class, contact your instructor.
  • OU IT cannot remove completed courses from All Courses, but you can choose which courses appear on your Dashboard.

Quick Rule

Can you see the course in All Courses?
✅ Yes → No Course Sync ticket needed.
❌ No → Submit a Course Sync ticket.
