Connecting to OU Internet for the First Time

New to OU?

For wireless connections, most computers, phones, and tablets should connect to WIFI@OU, OU's secure wireless network. OU students, faculty, and staff should not use OUGuest, it is intended for OU visitors and causes issues connecting to WIFI@OU.

Use AccessOU only for devices that cannot connect to secure Wi-Fi, such as gaming consoles, smart TVs, streaming devices, and other Internet-enabled devices that lack a web browser.

For wired connections, if you live in the university dorm or apartments, register your computer or gaming console through Network Registration (NetReg) before connecting with an Ethernet cable. If you are a new faculty or staff member and are having trouble accessing the network, please reach out to us at 405-325-HELP (4357) or submit a case to us at itsupport.ou.edu.
